Marvel’s Wolverine Platinum Trophy Guide | The Easiest Platinum of My Year in About 20 Hours

Marvel's Wolverine platinum trophy guide eyecatch: Logan on a Tokyo rooftop Marvel's Wolverine

Intro

Marvel’s Wolverine was one of the games I was most hyped for before launch. I went in treating it as one of the big releases of the year. It’s Insomniac, the Spider-Man studio, so I figured it would be a lot of fun. I started on October 1st and the platinum, I’m The Best There Is…, popped on October 14th. This post covers what the platinum was actually like and the few things worth knowing if you’re thinking about picking it up.

No story spoilers here. Trophy names do give a few things away though, so heads up on that.

Marvel's Wolverine trophy list with the platinum unlocked

I played on Normal. The story took me 14 hours, the platinum about 20. Probably the easiest platinum I’ve earned this year.

My honest take: it felt like watching a long movie. But the action really does feel like Wolverine, and I had fun with it.

Right before this I’d been playing the new Onimusha. I’ve got a platinum guide for that one too, and honestly it might be the most complete action game I’ve played this year. So my expectations for Wolverine had dropped a little going in.

The two play completely differently though. Onimusha is a lot of waiting for the enemy to move and answering it properly. Wolverine is attack, attack, attack. A different kind of action game, and I enjoyed it for that.

If you like Wolverine, there’s a lot here for you. The healing factor is the thing that defines him, and the game leans into it. No healing items, you cover for damage with his own ability. That part felt really Wolverine and I loved it.

It’s rated M, and there’s plenty of gore, so be aware if that’s not your thing. Personally I didn’t find it that extreme.

Platinum difficulty and time

  • Release date: September 15, 2026
  • Played on: PS5
  • Play period: October 1 to 14, 2026
  • Total playtime: about 20 hours
  • Time breakdown: 14h story + about 6h of cleanup after the credits
  • Playthroughs: 1 (New Game+ is not needed for the platinum)
  • Platinum difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
  • Sense of achievement: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
  • How close I came to quitting: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
  • Need for a guide: Medium (some collectibles are easy to miss)
  • Missable elements: None
  • Online requirements: None
  • Biggest wall: Crate Collector (68 Material Crates) and Full Barrel (20 Whisky Bottles)

⚠️ Missables

None.

  • No difficulty trophies
  • You don’t need New Game+ or the hardest difficulty that unlocks after the credits. Everything comes in one playthrough
  • Mission Replay is available after the credits, so anything you skip can be picked up later

I think this is the main reason the platinum goes by so fast. Not a single trophy assumes a second run.

🎯 Biggest wall: hunting Material Crates and Whisky Bottles

This is the only part that gave me any trouble. Honestly, nothing else on the list is hard.

Even with the skill that helps you find collectibles, some of them just won’t show up. Walking around the map going “where’s the last one?” took up more time than anything else in this platinum.

Even with the scent-tracking skill upgraded, I still missed things

I grabbed what I could on detours during the story and cleaned up the rest after the credits.

Material Crates go into crafting suits and Whisky Bottles power up Logan, so collecting them also moves you toward two golds, Adamantium Armory and Secondary Mutations. Flip side: the longer you put the hunting off, the heavier your post-game cleanup gets.

If you’re short on time, keep a collectible map or video open next to you from the start. Hunting on your own, you’ll get lost like I did even with the skill.

Tricky trophies

⚠️ From here on, trophy names include boss names (spoilers).

Nightmare Trials: Adamantium Dreams and Repressed Memories

Nothing to stress about. A few trials are a bit harder, but all of them were well within reach.

The annoying ones are the trials where you keep killing enemies to hit a target score. The skills you get during a trial are random. If you draw the one that calls in Jean, or the one that kills a parried enemy in a single hit, it’s basically won. If you don’t get either early, I think restarting is faster.

Ultimate Predator (Reach Player Level 36)

I wasn’t there yet when the credits rolled, but running around in Mission Replay collecting bottles and crates got me there quickly. If you only play the story, expect to level a bit after the credits. It’s not hard though.

Parry Perfected (Parry 500 times)

The number looks scary, but just fighting normally got it for me before the credits. No need to think about it.

Harmer’s Market, That’s Cheating and Blindsided

I picked these three up together on my last day. Harmer’s Market asks you to destroy every vendor stall during the Sabretooth fight, which you won’t notice just playing normally. I went back with Mission Replay after the credits.

The very last one was Blindsided (stealth kill 10 enemies blinded by Jean). Unless you aim for it, you probably won’t hit 10 naturally, so I went for it after the credits. That popped, and the platinum came with it.

Efficient Platinum Roadmap

  1. Collect as you go during the story, with a collectible map open (this wipes out most of the cleanup)
  2. For the kill-for-score Nightmare Trials, push when you draw the Jean skill or the one-hit-parry skill. The early trials are easy, so anything works there
  3. After the credits, use Mission Replay for the vendor stalls, the stealth kills and the remaining levels
  4. Skip New Game+ and the hardest difficulty. Neither is needed for the platinum

Verdict

  • Game rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)
  • Platinum difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

What unlocks after the credits. More moves is nice, but I haven’t tried them

This is a fan game, through and through.

The action is fun. Slashing in and answering with a parry feels great, and early on I didn’t want to put the controller down. But somewhere in the middle I got used to it, and the second half felt like the same thing on repeat.

The story keeps throwing movie-style set pieces at you, and to me the pacing is better than the Spider-Man games. But there were no surprises. It’s a “yeah, that’s where this was going” kind of story all the way to the end. Not bad, not great.

Exploration is linear too, and almost the only reason to wander an area during the story is hunting suit materials and whisky. If anything, that hunting got in the way of the story’s pacing. I could have been more immersed without it.

The visuals, though, are stunning. In between sessions I was playing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth through PS Plus Premium, and next to Wolverine it started to look like a toy. That’s how good the graphics are. Top tier for a modern game.

I played on Normal and got stuck exactly zero times. I lost time hunting collectibles, but never once stalled on a boss or a trophy condition. So there’s not much sense of achievement. For working gamers, though, a platinum this quick is honestly a relief.

Who it’s for

  • Wolverine and X-Men fans who enjoy just playing as the character
  • Working gamers who want one easy platinum this year

Who should skip it

  • Anyone looking for twists and surprises in the story
  • Trophy hunters who want that rush when the platinum pops
  • Anyone who really hates collectible hunting (fine if you follow a guide)

I haven’t decided what I’m playing next. Come back and find out.
