Before we dive in, let me gush for a sec. I’ve been a massive Resident Evil fan since I was a kid, and Leon is THE GOAT among all the characters. I was hooked since the OG GameCube RE4, and even before that — when those early RE 3.5 trailers dropped with Leon… yeah, he’s been my absolute favorite for as long as I can remember.
That said, even though I’ve always loved the series, RE games demand a LOT of replays for completion, and I’d always get bored partway through. So I’d never actually gone for a platinum trophy in any Biohazard game before.
But real talk — the biggest reason I managed to grind through all those RE4 playthroughs for the platinum… is because Leon in this remake is just TOO GOOD LOOKING!! (lol)
Leon’s revamped face in these gorgeous graphics is just chef’s kiss. I literally couldn’t stop taking screenshots during gameplay. Instead of organizing my attaché case, I was out here firing up Photo Mode and snapping pics of Leon from every angle.

Ahhh he’s really just so cool. For real, I’m grateful to be alive in an era where we can play games at this quality. BTW, Leon in the latest Requiem? Absolutely devastating. No Photo Mode yet though… pain.

So here it is: even though I’d never gone for a Biohazard platinum before, I pulled it off with a stress-free 7-playthrough route where I was basically just vibing with my boy Leon and the platinum just… happened.
“Action games aren’t my thing” “Professional S+ is literally impossible” — Don’t sweat it! Instead of burning out on a speedrun route, let’s go full god-mode with OP weapons and take a chill 7-playthrough path to guaranteed platinum!
1. The Chill 7-Playthrough Roadmap
🟢 Run 1: Assisted or Standard (New Game)
Goal: Enjoy the game and appreciate Leon! Start on Assisted difficulty and soak in the story and Photo Mode to your heart’s content.
- Tip: Don’t sell gems individually — always combine them first for max value. You’re saving up for the Infinite Rocket Launcher (~2 million ptas) next run.
🟢 Run 2: Assisted (NG+ Carry Over)
Goal: Collectibles cleanup & buy the Infinite Rocket Launcher
- Complete all 19 Merchant Requests → Trophy: “Jack of All Trades”
- Destroy all 16 Castellan figures → “Vive la Révolution!” (This unlocks the unbreakable Primal Knife!)
- Tip: Watch out for the missable Golden Egg at the lake and Black Bass at the fish farm. Buy the Infinite Rocket Launcher before clearing!
🟡 Run 3: Hardcore (NG+ Carry Over)
Goal: Unlock Invincible Ashley (Knight Armor)
- Requirement: Clear in under 10 hours (A-rank or above)
- Tip: With the Infinite Rocket Launcher from last run, just nuke every enemy and boss. Easy sub-10 hours. This unlocks the Knight Armor that makes Ashley completely invincible for all future runs!
🔴 Run 4: Professional (NG+ Carry Over)
Goal: Unlock the Chicago Sweeper (OP special weapon)
- Requirement: Clear in under 7 hours (A-rank or above)
- Tip: Yeah it’s Professional, but with Infinite Rocket Launcher + Invincible Ashley, it’s basically just a Michael Bay movie. Clear in 7 hours to unlock the Chicago Sweeper — your key weapon for the S+ run!
🔵 Run 5: Standard (New Game) — This is the Big One!
Goal: S+ Rank & Sprinter trophy
- Requirement: Clear in under 5 hours (fresh save — no carry over)
- Tip: No NG+ here, BUT the Knight Armor and Chicago Sweeper from Runs 3-4 are available on new saves from the start! Grind Merchant Requests in the Village to collect 30 Spinels, trade for the Exclusive Upgrade Ticket at the Castle entrance, and make the Chicago Sweeper infinite. Then just hold the trigger down and blaze through in under 5 hours for that sweet S+ rank!
🟢 Run 6: Standard (NG+ Carry Over)
Goal: Bronze trophy cleanup
- Tip: Shooting Range all 12 stages S-rank (use Punisher’s penetrating rounds), Mine Cart no-hit, Clock Tower Lift weight limit — mop up all the remaining misc trophies with the Infinite Rocket Launcher in your pocket.
🟢 Run 7: Assisted (NG+ Carry Over)
Goal: The ultimate triple-restriction run — the grand finale! Knock out all three of these simultaneously:
- Minimalist (Handgun & Knife only): DO NOT fire the Chicago Sweeper or Magnum! Use a fully upgraded Matilda or Red9 + Primal Knife (infinite durability).
- Frugalist (No healing items): Assisted difficulty has a built-in auto-recovery when you’re low on health. Combine that with Invincible Ashley and you’re golden.
- Introvert (Never talk to the Merchant): Before clearing Run 6, bulk-craft handgun ammo and finish all weapon repairs/upgrades. You won’t be shopping this run!
The moment the credits roll, the beautiful platinum trophy “It’s Worth Crying Over” pops! GG, you did it!
2. Hard Parts Safety Guide
- Shooting Range S-Rank: Upgrade the Punisher’s penetration and shoot through medals to hit targets behind them for multi-kills. Stage 3-B is the toughest — if your combo breaks, just restart immediately for your sanity.
- Clock Tower Lift “Weight Limit”: Blow up the explosive barrel in the back-right at the start to wipe out the first wave, then use the shotgun to stagger enemies so they can’t board the lift. With the Infinite Rocket Launcher, just keep firing at the ground and it’s free.
- Verdugo Kill “Payback”: Hit the freeze switch twice, then land a direct Rocket Launcher headshot for an instant KO.
3. Conclusion: Appreciate Your Boy While Getting That Platinum!
“Instead of burning out on a speedrun and breaking your spirit, take your time snapping Leon screenshots across a chill 7-playthrough journey and lock in that platinum” — that’s the whole concept of this guide.

🎮 Must-Have Gear: How I Saved on a PS5 Controller
During my hardcore Platinum Trophy grinds, the rubber on my PS5 thumbsticks finally tore off. I was dreading spending another $70 on a brand new DualSense… but then I tried these thumbstick caps as a last resort.
Surprisingly, they fit perfectly right over the torn rubber! I saved the replacement cost and used that money to buy another new game instead (lol).
