Hunt one monster — size is juuust barely off. Hunt ten more — still no crown. Then your brain starts spiraling: “Wait, can this quest even drop crowns…?” The paranoia is real and it hits every. single. day.

● Event Quests Are on Their Own Schedule

Some event quests have fixed sizes or boosted crown rates — but they’re not always available. Miss the window and you’re back to the RNG hellhole of standard investigation quests. It’s a cheese strat that only works when the game lets you use it.

• Hunt it regardless — the size record only locks in after quest completion
• Exception: if it’s obviously tiny or massive, a quick size check mid-hunt can save time on obviously standard-sized runs

④ Manage Region Levels (Iceborne — Guiding Lands)

• Rare monster spawns in the Guiding Lands require specific region level setups
• Especially critical for hard-to-encounter monsters like Yian Garuga and Tigrex Subspecies — limited spawn conditions make these extra annoying

• Some monsters are size-fixed (Zorah Magdaros, Behemoth, etc.) — they’re crown-exempt, don’t waste time on them
